We can’t think of anything more quintessentially fall than hopping on a hayride, cutting a fresh pumpkin from its stem, and bringing it home to carve. Ready to find your perfect pumpkin? Abma’s Farm – September 21-November 2 in Hillsborough, September 28-November 2 in Wyckoff
Hayrides, pumpkin picking, and a barnyard petting zoo—your littles will have so much fun riding to the pumpkin patch and petting the adorable animals. There is a corn maze at the Hillsborough location.

Alstede Farms – Pumpkin picking coming soon
Bring your crew to Alstede Farms, a favorite for pumpkin picking, thanks to the wide variety, including orange, white, green, and gold gourds and squash. Afterward, check out the farm activities, including a petting zoo, mazes, hay rides, and a bouncy house.

Conklin Farms – Opening day September 21
Choose from thousands of pumpkins in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Then sample some apple cider, take a haunted hayride, and try to win a 100-pound pumpkin.

Demarest Farms – September 21-November 3
Named one of the best places to pick pumpkins in New Jersey, this place includes pumpkin picking, apple picking, and farm market shopping. Kids will love the petting zoo, too. The farm requires you to make a reservation online before you go (no tickets will be sold on-site).

Donaldson Farms – September 27th -October 27
Fall is a long-time family tradition at Donaldson Farms, where you can take a pumpkin-picking hayride to the patch and apple orchards. On weekdays, you can grab a wheelbarrow and walk to the fields to the pumpkins.

Fairfield Farms & Greenhouses – September 21-October 31
Fall is the best time of the year at Fairfield Farms, with activities like hayrides, a child-friendly corn maze, a rope maze, a pumpkin slingshot, and, of course, pick your own pumpkins.

Ort Farms – Starting September 21
Known as “the most spacious farm in Morris County,” Ort Farms is home to all the fun fall activities you expect during the season. Do some leaf peeping, enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch, and search for your perfect pumpkins.

If you want to cut the pumpkin straight from the vine in centuries-old pumpkin patches, Riamede is the farm for you. Riamede also has apple cider donuts. Don’t miss their apple-picking too.

Allaire Community Farm – September through October
At this central Jersey farm, you can pick pumpkins, shop at the farm market, or visit all farm animals. This 25-acre farm uses its funds to support rescue animals, the special needs population, at-risk youth, veterans, families battling cancer, and winter operations at its nonprofit farm. Red Wagon Farm – Both locations open September 21
With two locations in New Jersey, you can pick over 100 kinds of pumpkins, including “Giant Prize Winner” pumpkins, right off the vine. Both locations have plenty to do besides pumpkin picking, including games, mazes, and hayrides.

Hill Creek Farms has 14,000 apple trees, lots of u-pick opportunities, a pumpkin patch, and fun family activities. The kiddos can also dig for buried treasure at the Gem Mining Company and ride the Barrel Train Express.

Indian Acres Tree Farm – September 21-October 31
The pumpkin patch has a variety of different sizes and pumpkin colors. Wander through a giant maze to find scarecrows hidden along the path. Try the barrel train ride, farm-themed playground, or petting zoo.

Johnson’s Corner Farm – September 7-October 31
Johnson’s Corner Farm has some of the best pumpkin picking in NJ. Check out their Fall Harvest Weekends with live music, a corn maze (weekends only), gem mining, food tents, and more. In November, look out for their sweet potato and popping corn-picking hayrides.
